There’s a kind and wonderful woman by the name of Pat Brown living in Fort Pierre, SD who makes fabulous jewelry from recycled copper. We worked a show next to Pat back in January 2018 and were immediately drawn to a gorgeous piece made from a single strand of copper attached to a leather jacket. At the time, Pat was a bit underwhelmed by it but we were inspired.
It wasn’t until Tom Cochrane’s fabulous 1991 hit “Life is a Highway” came blasting out of my radio a few months later that it coalesced in a shirt design.
The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is an unavoidable part of South Dakota’s cultural life and we have nothing but respect for the traditions of the Jackpine Gypsies. However, we’ve always been a bit horrified by the tee shirts tied to the event, all gaudy and in-your-face. We were sure there are folks who wanted to pay homage to the event without wearing a chest loaded with plastisol.
We combined all this storytelling into a great little tank and tee shirt that we think you’ll be proud and happy to wear. Nothing but Vintage Black shirts would do for this design and we’ve got them in Small to 2XL at a reasonable price. Comfy and lightweight on all counts for hours on the Harley and highway of your choice. Salute!
